Juno needs your support and help!
To anyone willing to listen and help,
I know this is probably a far reach for help but I need to try. My wife Chanda works at a humane shelter here in Vermont (Franklin County Humane Society of St.Albans Vermont), and is a member of the ASPCA. She is also a certified canine obedience instuctor, so as you can see we have a high level of compassion for these animals, that want nothing but to make us happy in return .
Back to needing help, a little while ago a couple brought in a 1 year old husky (Juno) that they said they found and wasn't theirs. Juno has had a urinary tract infection since she was a puppy and was never treated until now. She is the most gorgous and well mannered, caring dog and is facing euthanization if we, (my wife and I) can't find a way to raise money to save her. Since the infection was left for so long, she now can't control her urination, so she is unfit to go to a home at this point, but with the proper treatment she would be a great family dog. She has been on medication and though it is helping, her kidneys are failing and she needs a surgery that is going to cost upwards of 5-7 thousand dollars. Now I obviously don't espect any of you to just give the shelter the money that she needs, but anything that you could do to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and below is a link to the shelter, so you know this is indeed real and I'm not just trying to scam an easy buck. Juno is not on the site of course, since she is unfit for adoption at this point. Once again thank you for any help you can give.
Sincerely,
Devin and Chanda Rochon

Juno is a young Siberian husky who came to the shelter after her owner no longer wanted to care for her. She seems pretty quiet and relaxed for a husky, though she does occasionally let out the distinct howl. Juno has lived in a home before and seems to have fair house manners. She enjoys extra thick bedding and pillows to rest on. Juno has shown little play or food drive. Over the past couple of months she has learned to down for her food. To keep her happy and nurturing, Juno has been introduced to a couple of puppies. She shows a bit of interest in the little guys at first with a couple of play bows. Juno has been our dog to send the puppies with for a bit to teach them some dog-dog manners. (No biting tails. No biting ears. Too hard, at least.) She has been on walks with other female dogs and doesn't seem to mind male dogs. Juno hasn't shown much interest in cats. Through a long process of urine tests, multiple medications, x-rays, and ultrasounds the cause of Juno's recurring urinary tract infections has been determined. The ultrasound shows that Juno has some malformations and scarred tissue on her kidneys, ureters, and bladder. She is currently on a drug called 'Baytril" and seems to be feeling more playful and interactive. Due to Juno's complications with her urinary tract she will need surgery which FCHS is currently accepting donations toward. Though Juno is waiting for surgery we would like her to find a home so she can be more comfortable during that wait. She does leak urine and will until the operation can be done. If you have a bit of extra room in your heart for not only a rescue dog but one who has had a tough go in life please consider Juno.
Please note, we have not met most of these dogs, so cannot say how they would be in a particular home. Please contact the respective shelters for more information.
